Going to Grapefruit League spring training games in Florida can be a challenge because the teams are spaced so widely apart. Practice locations are concentrated primarily along the coasts, meaning you could spend several hours driving to a ballpark in another city. Even a trip down one of the coasts can take several hours, so it is best to plan your trip with an eye towards staying in one locale for several days to catch teams within the vicinity, then moving onto another.

The Mets play at Tradition Field, 525 NW Peacock Blvd, Port St. Lucie, Fl 34986. A unique feature of the pallpark is the St. Lucie Bat House, which is 14 feet off the ground and houses 160 chambers for hanging bats. Bats, the animal kind, not the baseball kind, were previously a problem at the stadium, so the bat house gives these creature an alternate place to live.
