Orlando Condominiums For Rent

From the lowly tent to full service resorts with untold amenities (and cost), the vacation traveler has several options in today’s modern traveling world. Many vacationers are opting for condominiums, villas or even homes rather than the traditional hotel or motel. According to a study conducted by PhocusWright (a leading travel research firm) there are 1.2 million homes available for vacation travelers in the U.S. alone. HomeAway (an online vacation rental company that connects homeowners and property managers with travelers) reports on their web site that on average hotels are more than twice the cost per square foot as vacation rentals. Availability, cost and convenience make rentals a highly desirable alternative for the savvy traveler.

Vacation Rental Amenities

While cheaper than hotels, rentals are not without amenities. One advantage is size. HomeAway claims that their average rental is 1,850 sq. ft., a mansion in comparison to the 325 sq. ft. hotel room. Vacation rental homes make the accommodation of extended families, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins not only possible but extremely affordable as well. Rentals offer a kitchen that is available 24/7 and the opportunity to save on eating out every meal. Other amenities may be area specific, depend on the facility or season and may include:

  • Entertainment systems, DVDs, and electronic games
  • Reading material: books, magazines
  • In house or on sight laundry facility
  • Pools, spas and outdoor games such as tennis, volleyball, etc.
  • Beach towels, chairs and flotation devices
  • Golf clubs, especially if it is on or close to a golf course
  • Pet accommodations (always check beforehand).

Privacy and quiet solitude make rentals stand out from crowded hotels. The experience of being in a private dwelling, a "home away from home" and the peace that provides is perhaps the greatest testament to vacation rentals.
